Pos Malaysia’s Integrated Parcel Centre (IPC) in Shah Alam was upgraded to increase processing capacity from 112,000 to 300,000 items a day.

Pos Malaysia is the national courier service provider and sole licensee for universal postal services in the country, delivering to more than 10 million addresses across the nation.

The history of Pos Malaysia traces back to the early 1800s with the establishment of postal services in the Straits Settlements in Penang, Malacca and Singapore.

Postal service is the second oldest establishment in the country, after the police force. Back in the days, the common mode of transport for postal delivery included bicycles, boats and even horses.
1957
Upon the independence of Malaysia, Jabatan Perkhidmatan Pos or Postal Services Department was established as a government agency.
1976
The Postal Services Department implemented the postcode system and letters were grouped and sorted manually.
